Death is the one certainty we all share, and most of us arrange our lives around not looking at it. How we face mortality shapes how we live. This coaching program is a steady, supported way to look directly at the end of life: what you value, who matters most, what you'd want, and what your people will need to know.
You don't have to be ill to begin. People come to this work after a diagnosis, while caring for a loved one, at a turning point in midlife, or simply because they’re compelled to answer some of the questions that feel too big to answer alone.
Navigating Life's Many Seasons:
A coaching program, offering a steady place to turn toward the end of life, and live more fully now.
Who it's for
People living with a diagnosis who want clarity and companionship as they plan.
People who aren't actively dying but want an open and honest relationship with death so they can be more prepared.
People who want to lighten the load for the family and friends who would someday carry the decisions.
What you'll do
Six 45-minute coaching sessions, scheduled every other week via video (in-person in the Bay Area can be discussed). Each session includes a brief opening practice, time to check in, a topic and guided exploration, and a clear action plan for the weeks ahead. Between sessions, you'll have short readings, reflections, and practices in a workbook designed to move the work forward at your pace.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be ill to do this? No. Some people come after a diagnosis, and many come because they want to be prepared and in a healthier relationship with death before they have to be.
Will it be too heavy? It will touch hard things, and it will also hold joy, humor, and relief. You choose how deep to go. Every exercise is optional, and we'll move at your pace.
Do I need a particular belief or spiritual practice? No. Some of the practices are drawn from contemplative traditions, and you're welcome to adapt them to your own beliefs, or none.
Is this therapy? No. Coaching looks forward, at what matters to you and what you want to put in place. Therapy treats mental health conditions. If you'd benefit from therapy, I'll help you connect with potential resources.
How is this different from working with a death doula? A doula typically supports people during illness and at the bedside. This program is a structured process for preparation, and it's open to people at any stage. I also work as a death doula and can discuss the shape of that support if it’s something you’re wanting now or in the future.
What if I need to pause or miss a session? Life, and health, are unpredictable. We'll find a way to continue in a shape that works for you.
How much does this cost? During our free 30-minute discovery call, we’ll discuss your goals for end of life coaching, and determine whether my services are for you. We’ll also review pricing, packages, and whether a custom rate is most appropriate for your needs. I aim to offer services that are accessible and therefore have a few low or no cost coaching slots reserved each year. Fees will be agreed in writing after our discovery call.
Can I bring a family member or friend? The sessions are one-on-one, and the Living Document is designed to be shared with people important to you. If the need for a joint session becomes clear in the course of our coaching work, we can discuss how to build a collaborative session with a loved one that you identify.
